Advisory Council

Aboriginal Education Advisory Council

The Aboriginal Council is a group consisting of community members, school representatives and School District 59 (PRS) staff.  The Aboriginal Council works in an advisory capacity with the School District, local Aboriginal communities, and the Ministry of Education to enhance the educational achievement and to meet the educational needs of Aboriginal students.  The Aboriginal Council’s mission is to “Unite our community to encourage and support all Aboriginal students to reach their full potential.”  The Aboriginal Council meets a minimum of four times per year.  Persons interested in becoming a member of the Aboriginal Council can contact their child’s school or the Aboriginal Education Department.

No Blame Policy
The Council will focus its energy on collectively seeking solutions to problems and issues that arise, rather than placing blame on any person or organization.
