Dawson Creek Secondary Student, Shayne Hommy, won the Canada wide Orange Shirt Day 2021 design contest. As part of the prize, Shayne will get to meet Phyllis Webstad and have her design printed on the orange shirts sold by the Orange Shirt Society. Shayne says her design represents three little Indigenous girls from different tribes, holding hands to represent the unity of our people, (Indigenous peoples) resilience and strength throughout the many years of suffering Indigenous peoples had to face.
