End of Year Message

July 2, 2021

School District 59 Parents, Guardians and Students,

We have arrived at the end of the 2020/2021 school year. We made it!   You will never have another school year like this one.  It was a year for firsts: distancing, exposures, self-isolation, protocols, learning groups, cohorts, staggered lunches, masks, a lot of hand sanitizer, plexiglass, Zoom break out rooms, creative graduations, and a historical heat wave to round out the end of our school year.  This was definitely the first time in SD 59 where we cancelled buses and classes due heat.

To all students, families, and the community, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your resiliency, courage, and patience with us, while we navigated through a year like no other.

We hope you have a cooler summer than the temperatures this week.  Stay safe, relax and enjoy time with friends and family.  More information will come out at the end of August as to what the return to school will look like.  Please check this website for updates.

Take care and see you in September!
