School District No. 59 (PRS) is communicating closely with the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and Northern Health Authority regarding the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19). The School District understands there are public concerns and will continue to monitor the situation closely.
The Ministry of Health has issued the following prevention tips to control respiratory viruses in school settings:
- Students and staff who are ill with respiratory illness symptoms (fever, cough, fatigue, and/or muscle aches) should stay home from school.
- Practice good respiratory etiquette and hand hygiene, this includes covering the mouth and nose during coughing, or sneezing with a tissue or into a flexed elbow and disposing of used tissues in a plastic-lined waste container, and regular washing of hands with plain soap and water.
Please contact your doctor, Northern Health Authority or call Health Link BC (8-1-1) if you are concerned or experiencing any symptoms of the coronavirus.
