Partial Return to School

June 1st is a NID (Non-Instructional) day.

On June 2nd, there will be a partial return to in-class instruction.  Students will return for a few days a week only.

Grades:  K- 5 students will return 2 days per week (or 50%)

Grades:  6- 7 students will  return 1 day per week (or 20%)

There will be a limited number of students in class rooms to accommodate very strict safety measures that are necessary.  There may be different drop off/ pick up times to reduce the density of the students outside the building at one time. There will be no supervision outside in the morning.  Children must be dropped off or come to school at the arranged time.

Busses will also have safety measures in place.  There will be staggered lunch times and outside time will be different.

This does not constitute a return to regular schooling.  It will be a physically distanced, safe school environment.  The measures are going to be very strict and they need to be in order to keep everyone safe. Any staff or students, who exhibit any cold or flu symptoms no matter how mild, need to stay home and/or will be sent home from school.

We will be continuing with our Continuity of Learning plan.  On-line learning will continue for all students.  In-school instruction will not be more instruction but will be teacher supported learning.  We will be concentrating on the areas of Literacy, Numeracy, Science and Social Studies.  As teachers are working with students during the day the amount of contact may be different.

This return is voluntary .  It is optional for parents to send their child(ren) back.  The safety measures that need to be in place may be difficult for students.  All parents were contacted before May 22nd to ask whether they intend to send their child back on a part-time basis for June.  If you indicated that you would like your child to return, the teacher will contact you with a schedule for your student and a drop off/ pick up time.

Your child will need to be scheduled to attend.  No student can attend who is not scheduled for that day.  Please do not drop off your child without having spoken to their teacher and received a confirmation that they are on the day’s schedule.  If you wish to have your child scheduled, please call your child’s teacher.
