August 4, 2020: Message from Superintendent

Updated: August 4, 2020

Dear Students and Families of School District 59,

On July 29, 2020 the Ministry of Education and Public Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry presented the plan for education in September.  Schools will open with the goal of maximizing in-class instruction for all students within the revised public health guidelines.  I am sure you have many questions regarding school in September.  As this is new to all of us, we are taking the time to create well-thought out plans.

We are currently developing what the new learning groups/cohort model for each school will look like.  We are also working on health and safety protocols for all students and staff.  Schools will look different than what we are used to seeing.

Our plan will be published on the district website on or before August 26th.  Schools will be open on August 31st for questions and registration.  Please call that day to make appointments.

Thank you for your patience and safely enjoy the rest of your summer.
