Intro to Trades

School District No.59 has many opportunities for students to Discover, Explore, Train and Work in the trades.  Students start Discovering trades as early as elementary school and all Grade 7's in the district have the opportunity to attend the district wide "Try A Trade" event held every year in February. Students continue to Discover and Explore trades in high school.  Many students have the opportunity to explore trades through the Skills Exploration Elective Course or the Trades Sampler Program which introduces students to carpentry, electrical, plumbing and welding trades.
