Physical Education 10 The goal of PE 10 is to give you a good foundation for living a healthy and active life after high school. It's also meant to provide you with the opportunity to explore other activities, sports or health/fitness related activities.
Physical Education 11 Being fit is not only about losing weight or lifting a heavy barbell; being physically fit entails a wealth of knowledge about body functions, environment, safety, diet, goals, and strategies for longevity. Explore the world of healthy living and see how real fitness can be achieved through intention, effort, and just the right amount of knowledge.
Physical Education 12 This course allows you to continue building your foundation for healthy living and activity after high school. In addition to providing you with opportunities to explore other activities, sports or health/fitness related activities, PE 12 involves you becoming an active school and community member by creating a fitness plan, designing and teaching an activity, working with a sports mentor as well as promoting and coordinating a school activity.

Trying a variety of physical activities to increase chances of being active throughout our lives.
Choices are influenced by our physical, emotional and mental well-being.

Career Life Education
Career Life Education 10 consists of three major units; Education and Careers, Finances and Personal Health.
In the Education and Careers unit you will start working through myBlueprint, an online portfolio for goal setting, grad planning, career/ educational research, and financial planner. You will also complete a resume, cover letter, job application, as well as create a bullying and harassment policy for DCSS- South Peace.
In the Finances unit you will explore basic financial terms and goals, credit and debt, income and expenses, plus the in's and out's of renting property.
In the Personal Health unit you will study a variety of topics; healthy living, healthy eating, teens/stress/body image, digital media literacy and social smarts, healthy relationships, drugs and alcohol, and making smart choices.
Digital Media Arts 10 - Creating Images With Impact
In this digital course, students will learn creative photographic skills and processes. Students will build a portfolio of work and explore the fields of photography and graphic arts.
Digital Media Arts 11 - Discovering your Creative Potential
In today’s world, photographs are all around us, including in advertisements, on websites, and hung on our walls as art. Many of the images that we see have been created by professional photographers. In this course, we will examine various aspects of professional photography, including the ethics of the profession, and examine some of the areas that professional photographers may choose to specialize in, such as wedding photography and product photography. We will also learn more about some of the most respected professional photographers in history and we will learn how to critique photographs in order to better understand what creates an eye catching photograph.
Family Studies allows you to develop the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary to make informed decisions throughout the various stages of life, and to understand the effects of your decisions on yourself and on others.
