Peace View Elementary School is located approximately 35 minutes north of Dawson Creek in the Farmington area and is situated within a small, rural Hutterite Colony. It is a two-room school with a current enrollment of twenty-one students, and increasing yearly, from grades Kindergarten to Grade 9. Students enter school on their sixth birthday and leave on their fifteenth birthday to enter an apprenticeship program on the colony. All students take on a variety of roles within the school, such as: mentoring, translating as required for the youngest newcomers, and custodial responsibilities.
The staff consists of a teaching principal, an admin/prep teacher and a support worker. The German Teacher who is from the community, is the liaison between the English teacher, parents and the community. The German Teacher starts German school at 7:40 am, with the English school taking over at 8:50.
