Student Achievement

We believe student achievement should be recognized regularly.  Staff is encouraged to phone home with good news or send home special notes or certificates.

Gotchas - is a way for the Windrem Staff members to recognize students who demonstrate positive behaviors related to the school theme.

Outstanding achievements in the areas of Empathy, Inclusion, Determination, Academic Achievement, Citizenship, Service, Attendance and Sportsmanship will be awarded at the end of the school year.

General Expectations

Due to severe allergies our school is a peanut and tree nut free environment.

Students need inside shoes each day. This is for safety in case of evacuation from the school.

Note: During extreme cold (-20) and inclement weather (raining, snowing heavily)

Students are not permitted to leave the school grounds during the day which includes lunch break and while waiting for buses.  Exceptions are if a parent is picking up their child or if a child is walking home with notice.

Dress Code Policy

Student Clothing and other items worn by students will permit individual expression while promoting a safe, positive learning school community.

In reference to the above statements, student clothing will not display inappropriate slogans or pictures pertaining to drugs, alcohol, discrimination towards others of a different culture, sexual, or violent content.

The clothing worn by students will not be expose the body so that students, staff, parents, and other school visitors are distracted or disturbed.  That means no short mini-skirts or short shorts, and no spaghetti straps or halter style tops.

Erase Bullying

Erase is all about building safe and caring school communities. This includes empowering students, parents, educators and the community partners who support them to get help with challenges, report concerns to schools, and learn about complex issues facing students.
