About Us

Devereaux is a small rural elementary school located 15 minutes west of Dawson Creek in the community of Arras. Devereaux presently has a student population of 98 students. Our school vision is to foster and support self-regulation and independent problem-solving skills in our students so that they can focus on learning grade/age appropriate skills in numeracy and literacy at school each day.

Devereaux students enjoy a host of opportunities: Running club, Drama club, Me To We, Cartooning club, active Volleyball and Basketball teams, our own Concert Band, our own outdoor skating rink, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, ski trips, as well as annual trips to Gwillim. The caring community of students, staff and parents at Devereaux is our greatest attribute. Students learn, help each other and play together, regardless of age or grade. It is not unusual to see Kindergarten through to grade 7 students playing together at recess, with the older students modeling citizenship, helpfulness, kindness and acceptance every step of the way.

Devereaux has care and community at the core.
