Email to Parents February 18, 2026 (11:25 am)
Dear Families
As we are planning a return to school (and more information will follow tomorrow about next week), we also realize that not everyone will be able to return so we want to offer different pathways to education. If you are thinking that you may want to be in a distributed learning model (distance learning) we want that to be an option for you as well. If you choose to enroll for Distributed Learning it does not mean you have to stay there; you can return to regular classes at any time.
A representative from the South Peace Distributed Learning (SPDL) School will be available at Tumbler Ridge Elementary School to meet with students and their guardians today, February 18th, as well as Thursday and Friday, between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., to assist with program registrations.
SPDL is School District No. 59’s distributed learning school, offering Ministry approved and accredited programming for students from Kindergarten through Grade 12. All SPDL learning opportunities will be accessible to students in Tumbler Ridge.
To support diverse learning needs, students may choose between two pathways for completing their courses:
- Distance Learning: Completing the course fully at home.
- Hybrid Learning: Working primarily from home while accessing in person support at the school site as needed.
We are committed to ensuring that every student has access to flexible, quality learning options as we navigate the coming weeks and months.
Please call Mr. Aaron Harper, Principal of South Peace Distributed Learning, at 250-262-6751, to schedule an appointment.
