The General School Trustee Election will be held this fall.  Seven trustees make up the Board of Education of School District No. 59 (PRS) from the following areas: two from Dawson Creek, two from Chetwynd & rural areas, one from Tumbler Ridge and two from rural Dawson Creek and surrounding areas. 

New for 2022 Elections:

  • New residents no longer need to be living in the electoral area for at least 30 days to be eligible to vote.    
  • Announcement regarding the changes to the Local Elections Campaign Financing Act (LECFA) for the 2022 General Election.

Key Election Dates:

Nomination packages available – August 2, 2022
Nomination period – August 30, 2022-Sept 9, 2022
Last day to withdraw without Ministry approval – September 16, 2022
Declaration of election by voting or acclamation – September 19, 2022
Required advance voting day – October 5, 2022
2nd advance voting day – October 12, 2022
General voting day – October 15, 2022 (preliminary results evening of election)
Official election results – October 19, 2022
First day available to take oath – acclamation – October 16, 2022; elected by voting – October 25, 2022
New term begins – November 7, 2022
