2022 Preliminary Election Results

The General School Trustee Election will be held this fall.  Seven trustees make up the Board of Education of School District No. 59 (PRS) from the following areas: two (2) from Dawson Creek, two (2) from Chetwynd & rural areas, one (1) from Tumbler Ridge and two (2) from rural Dawson Creek and surrounding areas.  The school districts works closely with the municipalities and Peace River Regional District to conduct the General School Election.  Please see the contact list below for each area:

  • New residents no longer need to be living in the electoral area for at least 30 days to be eligible to vote.    
  • Announcement regarding the changes to the Local Elections Campaign Financing Act (LECFA) for the 2022 General Election.

Last day to withdraw without Ministry approval – September 16, 2022
Declaration of election by voting or acclamation – September 19, 2022
Required advance voting day – October 5, 2022
2nd advance voting day – October 12, 2022
General voting day – October 15, 2022 (preliminary results evening of election)
Official election results – October 19, 2022
First day available to take oath – acclamation – October 16, 2022; elected by voting – October 25, 2022
New term begins – November 7, 2022
