Crescent Park Elementary November Newsletter

Learning is Fun!

Even with all our restrictions, students are loving learning.  In the photo, Mrs. Fradette’s grade ones are working at a reading centre, while others are working on word families and syllables to help them make progress in reading.

Please help!

We are looking to make some snowball targets for our yard.

Students from the 5/ 6 class are designing them and will help with the painting.

If anyone has some materials – 2’ x 4’s or plywood/OSB that are left over from another project and might be suitable, please give us a call.  We would like to make them 2’ x 4’ or bigger and make 4 at least.

Art Fundraiser

Students are working on art for our PAC fundraiser.  I

Teachers will either be sending a photocopy of the artwork or sharing it out on Seesaw for parents to see.  An order form will be sent home so that parents who wish to order their student’s artwork on keychains, mugs, bags, masks, etc., will be able to order.

Parent – Teacher Interviews

On November 18th and 19th, we will be having Early Dismissal Days followed by Parent-Teacher Interviews.  Students will be dismissed one hour earlier than normal, at 1:40.  Teacher’s will be offering either Zoom or phone interviews for the most part so that we can respect our COVID protocols.

Scholastic Virtual Bookfair

This year our bookfair will be a virtual one.  The Crescent Park Bookfair opens on November 16th and closes on November 29th giving parents and students lots of time to check out the books and kits available.  Giving books encourages reading and we encourage you to check out the offerings at the following link  https://bookfairs-canada.myshopify.com/pages/5152216

The link will only be active from the 16th until the 29th.

Photos and Photo Retakes

The link for photos from Mountain West was sent out by e-mail.  Please contact Mrs. Kirtzinger, our secretary if you need the link.  This year Mountain West will not be sending out proofs.  All viewing and ordering will be done on line.

If your child was absent or if you want another picture taken, photo retakes will be on November 19th in the morning only.
